Description
These Jefferson Electric units looks insane, high quality, are brand new in the original box, with the original protection paper and all. Transformer checked and working great! These transformers are for very low impedance cartridges like the ones that wants to see a 1 to 5 ohms load impedance. The turns ratio is 1:20, and the secondary should be loaded with a resistor at least 400x bigger then the desired primary load impedance. For example, for 1 ohms, use a 400ohms resistor (430 or 470 will do, but try up to 4k7). For 3 ohms on primary use a 1k2 minimum resistor across the secondary (try up to 12k), and for 5 ohms use a 2k resistor (2k2 will do, but try up to 22k and determine what's the best sound signature you want). You can also use a dual 22k potentiomer (wired as a rheostat) in series with two 390 ohms, labeled as IMPEDANCE CONTROL or IMPEDANCE LOAD) to "dial in" the best impedance reflect according to the cartridge, vinil type and rotation speed as well as the style of music you are listening to. If you are into Hi-Fi and want something to enrich your sounds in a very pleasant way, there's nothing like vintage transformers for this purpose. You can also use vintage transformers to build your own units like preamplifiers or amplifiers, or just a transformer box to run your signal through and get the benefits, if you are into HiFi DIY. Otherwise, if you are a musician, producer or studio owner, you can use vontage transformers to build Pultecs, VariMu compressors, mic preamps and many more, with lots of character, to open up the variety of your sound palette. This pair of transformers in new in box condition is a very special item. You won't see this very often. VERY RARE! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 limitations (yes, still), I can't ship to Australia. Don't ask me why. More good audio parts in my other items. Make sure you check it!
